London based Curse Of Lono band scooped The Bob Harris Emerging Artist Award at the 4th annual Americana Music Association UK’s award show, held in the ornate surroundings of the prestigious Hackney Empire in London on the 31st January.
The award was presented to band leader Felix Bechtolsheimer and the band by “Whispering” Bob Harris OBE.
The event also honoured Graham Nash OBE with a special Lifetime Achievement Award presented by fellow Hollies’ bandmate, Allan Clarke.
After receiving his award, Nash led the band in a rendition of CSN’s ‘Teach Your Children‘ and the all-star finale of Woody Guthrie’s ‘This Land Is Your Land’.
UK Americana Awards 2019
The AMA-UK is the association representing American Roots music in the UK, comprising musicians, both from the UK and overseas, plus promoters, venues, festivals, labels and distributors.
