Bywater Call release their new single “How Long” on Wednesday 4 March 2026.
The track is the second studio single of the year and comes from the band’s forthcoming fourth album, due for release in July 2026.
“How Long” leans into contemporary soul and R&B, drawing influence from artists such as Black Pumas, Brittany Howard and Amy Winehouse. Built around deep grooves, horns and layered textures, the song moves from restraint to release.
Lead vocalist Meghan Parnell describes it as a deeply personal piece.
“How Long is a raw and introspective song that wrestles with guilt, fragility, and the fear of becoming the very thing you never wanted to be. Lyrically and melodically, we tried to convey the vulnerability and self-reflection of someone living in the fragile space between remorse and repetition.”
The single was recorded at Palace Studios in Toronto, captured and mixed by Patric McGroarty, and mastered by Kristian Montano.
Bywater Call continue to build momentum internationally. In early 2026 they received a nomination for UK Blues Award International Act of the Year, following nominations in 2024 and 2025.
Their 2024 album Shepherd was named Blues Album of the Month by Classic Rock and later selected as Top Blues Album of the Year in the magazine’s year-end round-up.

Known for their dynamic seven-piece live line-up, the Toronto-based band will tour extensively across North America and Europe throughout 2026, including appearances on Keeping the Blues Alive at Sea and multiple European festivals.
“How Long” signals a subtle shift in direction while retaining the emotional weight and musical drive that have defined the band’s recent releases.
