Three Alligator Albums Earn Grammy Award Nominations

On Tuesday, November 23, The Recording Academy announced the nominees for the 2022 Grammy Awards. Three Alligator Records albums were recognized.

Elvin Bishop & Charlie Musselwhite’s acclaimed 100 Years Of Blues received a nomination for Best Traditional Blues Album. Bishop has been nominated for three previous Grammy Awards. Musselwhite has been nominated 13 times, and won a Grammy Award in 2013.

Shemekia Copeland’s groundbreaking release, Uncivil War, received a nomination for Best Contemporary Blues Album. Copeland has received three previous Grammy Award nominations.

Christone “Kingfish” Ingram’s sophomore release, 662, also received a nomination in the Best Contemporary Blues Album category. His debut, Kingfish, received a Grammy Award nomination in 2019.

The 64th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony will be held in Los Angeles on January 31, 2022.
