Laura Evans joins Bywater Call for 2027 UK tour

Bywater Call have announced British singer-songwriter Laura Evans as special guest on their January and February 2027 UK tour.

The Canadian seven-piece return to Britain following their recent free livestream concert, with the UK run beginning at The Old Brewery Store in Faversham on 27 January and continuing through to Anarchy Brewery in Newcastle on 7 February. Evans joins the tour after a strong couple of years on the road, bringing her blend of blues, rock and soul to the Bywater Call shows. Her releases have now passed two million streams on Spotify, while her music has also received continued support from Cerys Matthews on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio Wales.

Laura Evans joins the road

Evans has built her audience through an increasingly busy touring schedule, including sold-out UK shows and an 11-date European run across the Netherlands, Germany and France. Her sound draws together blues, rock, soul and Americana, with Classic Rock previously comparing her approach to Stevie Nicks jamming with Blackberry Smoke.

Joining Bywater Call places Evans alongside another act whose reputation has been built heavily around live performance. With both artists increasingly comfortable moving beyond straightforward genre boundaries, the pairing should make for a strong combination across the January and February dates.

Bywater Call continue UK connection

Led by vocalist Meghan Parnell and guitarist Dave Barnes, Bywater Call also features Bruce McCarthy on drums and percussion, Mike Meusel on bass, Andrew Moljgun on keyboards, Stephen Dyte on trumpet and valve trombone and Julian Nalli on saxophone.

The Toronto band have developed a growing UK following through repeated touring and festival appearances, combining Southern soul, roots rock, blues, Americana and R&B with a large, dynamic live sound. Their work has earned three consecutive nominations for International Act of the Year at the UK Blues Awards, alongside recognition from the Independent Blues and Canadian Maple Blues Awards.

Blues Matters has previously described Bywater Call as “a must-see act”, highlighting Meghan Parnell’s vocals, the band’s powerhouse rhythms, slide guitar and the impact of the horn section. That live reputation has been central to their growth, with the band playing more than 130 shows across 11 countries during 2025 alone.

A busy 2027 ahead

The UK dates form part of a wider European run beginning in the Netherlands on 22 January, followed by shows in Utrecht and Bonn before the band reaches Britain. After the UK leg finishes in Newcastle, Bywater Call head back across the Atlantic for appearances at the Rock Legends Cruise, Vero Beach Blues Festival and Tampa Bay Blues Festival, with further US dates already confirmed later in the year.

Their touring history has already included three appearances on Joe Bonamassa’s Keeping the Blues Alive cruise, while the band have shared stages with Blackberry Smoke, Marcus King, The Black Keys and Warren Haynes Band. Their 2024 album Shepherd was named Blues Album of the Year by Classic Rock, followed by live album Sunshine in 2025.
