Music and Blues for charity – 5th October 2013 Sutton, Any Colour You Like – Pink Floyd Tribute night

Music and Blues for charity

Musicians are often charitable, doing things musically and in other ways for good causes. Blues people are no exception. Before more on that, the reason this news has been placed is to communicate a gig by a Pink Floyd tribute band, Any Colour You Like www.acyluk.com, on Saturday 5th October at the Boom Boom Club in Sutton, South London www.feenstra.co.uk/boomboom/index_f.htm.

This gig is to help Callum Davie, a 6 year old boy from Essex, who has Childhood Leukaemia. Callum is awaiting a bone marrow transplant, but the gig, and another at The Crooked Billet, Stanford Le Hope, on 1st March 2014, are fundraising for a trip to Disneyland Florida.

We can also share the request for bone marrow donors, see www.anthonynolan.org and www.deletebloodcancer.org.uk.

We hope both events are well intended and offer our very best wishes to Callum and his friends and family.

As to Blues musicians and charity, a lot could be written. However, a mention can be made of The 100 Club www.the100club.co.uk, which has featured regular events including Blues acts on behalf of The Teenage Cancer Trust www.teenagecancertrust.org.
