Arizona’s largest blues festival, Flagstaff Blues and Brews, announces their impressive lineup for the June 2022 event. The festival starts Friday afternoon, June 10th and runs through Saturday night, June 11th. Named as one of the top 10 most beautiful blues festivals, the Flagstaff Blues & Brews Festival has helped launch the careers of many blues artists, including; Karen Lovely, MonkeyJunk, Harlis Sweetwater and Jeremy Bar-Illan.
The headliner for Saturday night is award winning Anders Osborne, hailing from New Orleans. He’s toured virtually non-stop, either with his own band, as a solo artist, or as a guest with bands including Toots and The Maytals, Derek Trucks, Warren Haynes, Keb Mo, and The Grateful Dead’s Phil Lesh. He’s produced and played on critically acclaimed albums by Tab Benoit, Johnny Sansone and Mike Zito.
Cedric Burnside, nominated for a Grammy in 2015 for Best Blues Album for the Cedric Burnside Project’s Descendants of Hill Country, is also the recipient of the Blues Music Awards honor as Drummer of the Year for four consecutive years. Other notable performers include the wildly popular Mr. Sipp and the sultry singer Dana Fuchs.
The 8th Annual Flagstaff Blues and Brews will open the gates at 2:00 pm Friday, and the first of four bands take the stage at 2:30 pm. Friday’s lineup includes Sir Harrison, Lisa Mann, Mr. Sipp and Cedric Burnside who closes out the night. On Saturday, gates open at 11:00 am and six bands will start performing at 11:30 am. Lineup includes Cadillac Assembly Line, Miller and the Other Sinners, Griff Hamlin and the Single Barrel Blues Band, The Wesley Pruitt Band, Dana Fuchs and for the finale, Anders Osborne.
Local and regional microbrews, national beer brands, wine and hard cider options will be on the menu. Complementing the music at the festival will be a wide variety of local and regional food and craft vendors, children’s activities and fun activities and games.
