Selwyn Birchwood’s album “Exorcist,” the latest release from Alligator Records, has been honored with the Quarterly German Record Critics’ Award. As per the Critics’ association, “The Quarterly Critic’s Choice recognizes the best and most captivating new releases of the past three months, taking into account artistic quality, repertoire value, presentation, and sound quality.”

Karl Leitner, a German writer and awards judge, remarked, “With ‘Exorcist,’ Selwyn Birchwood has accomplished the creation of an album that seizes your attention from the very first note and maintains its grip for the next 58 minutes. This production exudes self-confidence, showcasing an artist who, having been influenced by Albert King and Buddy Guy, is transcending their legacy with innovative stylistic ideas. It leaves a fresh and distinctive mark on this esteemed musical genre, all before reaching the age of 40!”
