A New Chapter Begins

“Make It” marks the first taste of Parker Barrow’s upcoming new album, due later this year. Written by drummer Dylan Turner and guitarist Alex Bender, the track showcases the band’s hard-hitting blend of southern rock, blues, soul, and raw energy — all anchored by the unmistakable powerhouse vocals of Megan Kane.

“It’s a sweet concoction of heavy drums, loud guitars and screaming vocals,” says Dylan. “The time changes give us room to balance the groove and that high energy swing feel that’s so prominent in classic southern rock.”

“From the jump, we knew this would be the lead single,” adds Megan. “It had our ‘it’ — that edge and electricity that gets people moving.”

Guitarist Alex Bender describes the process as one of the smoothest in the band’s catalogue:

“It came together quickly. We really enjoyed writing and recording it — it captures what Parker Barrow is all about.”

From Jukebox Gypsies to the Road Ahead

Following the success of their critically acclaimed 2023 debut album Jukebox Gypsies — which appeared on multiple “Best of 2023” lists — Parker Barrow are back in full stride. The band’s earlier singles, “Count Your Dollars” and “Back To Birmingham”, gained major traction, with the latter racking up over a million YouTube views.

Their sound blends the grit of The Allman Brothers and Blackberry Smoke, the soul of Tedeschi-Trucks, and the swagger of The Rolling Stones — all filtered through the band’s own distinctive southern rock ’n’ roll lens.

At the core of Parker Barrow is the dynamic partnership of husband-and-wife duo Megan Kane (vocals) and Dylan Turner (drums), who met in 2019 and hit the road just two weeks later. With the addition of guitarist and musical director Alex Bender, the band has evolved into a high-octane, road-tested live act booked worldwide by Intrepid Artists International.
