Elles Bailey — multi-award-winning, smoky-voiced genre-crossing chanteuse, not to mention super-hard-working singer/songwriter — releases a new and original single: ‘Love is Gonna Win’ today (Friday 26th February). Elles is also releasing a special video for this number.
Elles co-wrote ‘Love is Gonna Win’ a couple of years ago with Australian-born, Nashville-based, award-winning singer/songwriter Tamara Stewart
“I’ve been thinking a lot about different songs, written in a different time that are somehow now reflecting the state of the world. Songs like Mary Gauthier’s ‘Mercy Now’ or Elton’s ‘Border Song’.
“‘Love is Gonna Win’ was written with Tamara Stewart in 2019 and I had this track finished for quite a while, but now I feel that the time is right to finally release it.
“We have all lived through a time of isolation,” Elles adds, “but I really wanted to use the video to celebrate my fans’ ‘Lockdown Heroes’, and spread the message that in the end love will always win!
“I edited the video myself and it’s been such a heartwarming experience, seeing everyone’s messages of love and their thanks to their ‘Lockdown Heroes’.
‘Love is Gonna Win’ makes a great vehicle for Elles’ trademark timbre and style. There’s a rich feel of both the Blues and Nashville in the melodies and mix.
Meanwhile, Elles’ warm, self-edited video shows the track being recorded in an atmospheric studio, lit by candles and lanterns glinting off the silver drum fittings, guitars and the like. Then, added in, you’ll see shots of Elles’ friends, followers, fans and fellow artists holding up placards and other notices nominating their very own ‘Lockdown Heroes’: friends, family, loves, artists, bands and organisations. Whoever or whatever helped them get through the long days and nights of lockdowns. There’s a rich mix! You might recognise a few faces.
Check out this brand-new track from Elles Bailey. Enjoy its message of optimism and perhaps think who, or what, your own ‘Lockdown Hero’ nominations might be!
