debbie bond and the trudats That Thing Called Love
This seems to be the first album from Debbie and the band, and it is a 9 track offering, (actually only 8 songs, as one gets a reworking) all but two of the numbers are self-penned and stand up well to close scrutiny, there are some great lyrics here and some great playing, but, or should I say BUT, this still falls short of being a great album, because it left me wanting more feeling, more emotion in the delivery. At times it feels as if Debbie is holding back what promises to be a great voice, almost as if she is being too polite. This album needs to get down and dirty, and it doesn’t! That’s not to say that I didn’t like it, and especially if this is the first release, but it only bodes good for the future, as I am sure there is a great voice just waiting to be released.
