Alligator Records Artists Win Four Blues Blast Awards

On Wednesday, August 25, Blues Blast Magazine announced the winners of the 14th Annual Blues Blast Awards. Four Alligator Records artists — Shemekia Copeland, Curtis Salgado and the duo of Elvin Bishop and Charlie Musselwhite — won a total of four awards, including three top album awards.

Voting for the awards was free and open to the public (one vote per person) at the Blues Blast website.

Celebrated blues, soul and Americana vocalist Shemekia Copeland received awards in both categories for which she was nominated: Female Blues Artist and Contemporary Blues Recording for her groundbreaking 2020 album, Uncivil War.

Legendary blues giants Elvin Bishop and Charlie Musselwhite won for Traditional Blues Recording for their timeless album, 100 Years Of Blues.

Soul, rock and blues vocalist Curtis Salgado received the award for Soul Blues Recording for his acclaimed 2021 release, Damage Control.
