Stuck in Australia’s lockdown whilst on his 2020 tour downunder, Gwyn Ashton is seizing the opportunity to write and record new material and his brand new 2021 blues-rockin’ single is a trans-continental collaboration between him and drummer John Freeman (Bon Scott’s pre AC/DC band Fraternity) in Australia and bassist Neil Murray (Whitesnake, Black Sabbath), Mark Stanway (organ with Robert Plant, Phil Lynott’s Grand Slam, Magnum) in the UK.

Gwyn Ashton has been hauling his beaten up 1930s National steel guitar around the world for more than 20 years. Influences of his acoustic-based singer/songwriter ‘Roots, Blues & Beyond’ show are drawn from Mississippi Delta blues, ballads, and eastern music. Ashton is equally at home playing a Hawaiian Weissenborn hollow neck lap slide, resonator and 12-string guitars as he is playing a loud rock & roll set.
