Blues-rock guitarist and singer-songwriter Joanne Shaw Taylor has released her heartfelt new single, “Who’s Gonna Love Me Now?,” now available on all major streaming platforms. Known for her expressive lyrics and soulful guitar, Joanne delves deep into themes of grief, love, and healing with this powerful new track. Inspired by the recent loss of another family member, Joanne revisits the raw emotions she felt after her mother’s passing, reflecting her journey through grief and towards acceptance.
A Personal Reflection on Loss and Healing
“This song was a way for me to process some of the emotions I’ve been feeling,” Joanne explains. “At the start of this year, I lost another family member, which brought me back to those early, raw days of grief after losing my mom. Writing ‘Who’s Gonna Love Me Now?’ has been part of my journey in working through that pain and moving forward.” Through haunting lyrics like “I’ve called your name in every room in this house / Until my tears dried up and my breath gave out,” Joanne captures the pain of unresolved goodbyes and the search for inner peace.
Produced by Kevin Shirley, the track blends modern blues sounds with a timeless soulful resonance, showcasing Joanne’s powerful vocal delivery and signature guitar work. The release follows her previous single, “All The Things I Said,” a reflective piece on past relationships, as well as “Hold Of My Heart” and her unique take on “Black & Gold,” all of which have demonstrated her versatility and commitment to exploring new musical territory.
