JIMMY REGAL & THE ROYALS release Ain’t Done Yet, a 5-track EP today on Lunaria Records.
South London’s rumbustious, eclectic, rhythm & blues trio, Jimmy Regal & The Regals, build on the foundations of two critically feted albums to deliver a punchy yet varied EP.
In 2018 the band’s self-titled debut showed they had an intuitive understanding of a swathe of styles ranging in influence and origin from New Orleans blues-fonk to harp-driven Chicago boogie via deep Mississippi grooves; and also boasted the grungey, Brit-Blues classic, Burn It Down – an homage to their Crystal Palace manor. Last year, their second album, Late Night Chicken showcased the developing song-writing skills of guitarist Corin ‘CJ’ Williams. Ain’t Done Yet now displays an even broader palette of textures, rhythms and lyrical content.
