Following a successful 2024 UK tour, renowned guitarist and singer-songwriter Erja Lyytinen is set to bring her electrifying blues-rock back to the UK for an 11-date tour from 2nd-12th April 2025. Fans can expect a powerful blend of classics, songs from her extensive back catalogue, and fresh material from her forthcoming studio album, set for release on 28th March 2025. Erja, known for her intense and passionate slide guitar playing, reflects fondly on her previous UK tour. “It was so cool to meet my friends and fans at various clubs and festivals,” she shares. “Stopping along the way to take in the scenery, pop into tea houses, and enjoy a pint was wonderful.” And, in a highlight for her, she finally got to check off a long-time bucket list item – driving on UK roads. “I drove six hours from York to Southampton in the left-hand traffic. That box is now checked on my to-do list!”
A Fresh Setlist with Old Favourites and New Tracks
This 2025 tour brings even more excitement as Erja and her band will perform an entirely new setlist featuring tracks from her soon-to-be-released studio album, alongside “gems” from her back catalogue. “It’s going to be so much fun planning this setlist,” says Erja. “We’ll be performing for 100 rock-filled minutes with plenty of slide guitar, and I’ll even be bringing a few new guitars on tour, so it’s bound to be a thrilling experience for us and for the fans.”
Celebrating 20 Years of Blues Rock
Adding to the anticipation, Erja recently announced the release of her live album and DVD, 20 Years of Blues Rock! Recorded at her anniversary show at Helsinki’s legendary Tavastia Club in Autumn 2023, this double CD/DVD captures the highlights of Erja’s 20-year career. The special night was filled with music, memories, and appearances from past collaborators. “It was about time to make a tribute to my bandmates and celebrate twenty years of playing blues-rock around the world,” she reflects. “From my first solo album Wildflower to now, I’ve had the pleasure of performing with incredible musicians like Sonny Landreth, Santana, and Jennifer Batten. This night at Tavastia was a chance to celebrate that journey.”
