Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, Eddie 9V has carved a niche in the southern blues scene with his electrifying Freddie King-style guitar and soulful original tracks. Described as one of the most captivating performers on the circuit, his music is hailed as “fresh and life-affirming” by Rock and Blues Muse, and “the most instinctive blues you’ll hear all year” by Classic Rock.
Eddie 9V’s journey intertwines with the legendary Capricorn Studios in Macon, Georgia. Since childhood, the studio’s aura fueled his passion for music, leading him to forsake school at 15 and embark on a musical odyssey across the southern states. His early albums, “Left My Soul in Memphis” (2019) and “Little Black Flies” (2021), garnered acclaim, laying the groundwork for his latest venture.
In December 2021, Eddie, now 26, fulfilled a lifelong dream by recording his third album at Capricorn. Surrounded by eleven top-tier musicians from the American South, the studio’s raw ambiance perfectly complemented Eddie’s vision. Rejecting polish for authenticity, he aimed to capture the essence of live performance, embracing imperfections as part of the narrative.
Eddie’s musical roots run deep, influenced by icons like Muddy Waters and Freddie King. His transition from local gigs to solo stardom as “Eddie 9 Volt” was a natural evolution, driven by a desire to stand out in a sea of mediocrity.
Critics lauded his earlier works, but with the Capricorn sessions, Eddie pushed boundaries, infusing his blues foundation with elements of soul and psychedelia. Each track on the upcoming album reflects his personal struggles and triumphs, from battling alcoholism to fictionalized bayou adventures.
