Ally Venable’s Money & Power – A Blues-Rock Revolution

Rules are meant to be broken. Expectations? Defied. Glass ceilings? Shattered. That’s exactly what Ally Venable has been doing for the past decade in the male-dominated world of blues-rock. Now, with her highly anticipated sixth album, Money & Power, the Texas-born guitarist and vocalist is demanding more—for herself, for women, and for anyone who has ever felt overlooked.

Set for release on April 18, 2025, via Ruf Records, Money & Power is more than just a collection of songs—it’s a statement. With an electrifying band and A-list collaborations featuring Shemekia Copeland and Christone ‘Kingfish’ Ingram, this album is a rallying cry for change and a testament to the sheer force of Venable’s talent.

“This record is about being a force to be reckoned with,” Ally explains. “Money & Power is a strong statement, especially for women. I want it to wake people up.”

A Record That Commands Attention

Following the success of 2023’s Real Gone—which soared to #1 on the Billboard Blues Charts—Ally continues to carve her space among the best young blues artists today. Recognized by Total Guitar in its Top 100 Blues Guitarists poll, she is praised for her unique blend of fierce instrumental prowess and growing maturity in songwriting.

When she stepped into Nashville’s Soundstage Studios in early 2024, alongside producer and drummer Tom Hambridge, Ally was ready to raise the stakes. And the result? A powerful record that refuses to be ignored.

From the fiery opener “Brown Liquor,” featuring a blistering guest solo from Kingfish, to the soaring soul-infused anthem “Maybe Someday,” the album thrives on raw emotion and razor-sharp lyricism.

The title track, “Money & Power,” is an unapologetic call to arms. “It shouts to the masses that women are not to be doubted in their ability to thrive,” says Ally.

“Unbreakable” sees Ally going toe-to-toe with Shemekia Copeland, delivering a dust-blown blues rocker that refuses to back down. “That song spreads a message to women who have been oppressed—rise to the occasion and break above it all.”

The album closes on a high with “Stepping Stone”, an anthem of resilience, and “Feel That Sting”, a tremolo-soaked groove that drips with attitude and conviction.

A New Era for Ally Venable

With Money & Power, Ally Venable has crafted a modern roots record that plays by its own rules—much like the woman behind it. “This album is the sonic embodiment of a woman’s unstoppable ambition,” she says. “It showcases my musicality on all fronts, and I can’t wait to see where this one takes me.”

One thing is certain—Ally Venable is unstoppable, and Money & Power is proof that the blues has never sounded so fierce, so fresh, and so necessary.
