Hollow Souls join forces with Elles Bailey on fiery new single Burn It To The Ground

British blues-rock collective Hollow Souls, led by Kris Barras, have released their fourth single Burn It To The Ground, featuring the powerhouse vocals of chart-topping Americana star Elles Bailey. The track is out now on all streaming platforms, accompanied by an official music video on YouTube.

This collaboration marks the first time Barras and Bailey have recorded a song together, despite years of friendship and creative connection. Barras has directed several of Bailey’s music videos, while the two have often compared notes during their parallel journeys through the music industry.

A long-awaited collaboration

“This genuinely feels like such a treat to be collaborating with the one and only Kris Barras,” says Elles Bailey. “I’m so excited that we are finally on a track together and I was invited to be a part of this really special project!”

The song was written during Bailey’s visits to Devon, where the pair worked without external pressures. Once the demo was complete with producer and multi-instrumentalist Josiah J Manning, the Hollow Souls band tracked the instrumental live in the studio. Elles’ lead vocals were laid over this, with backing vocals from resident singer Phoebe Jane and a one-take guitar solo adding to the track’s raw intensity.

“I’ve been friends with Elles for a good few years now and it’s been great to see her career go from strength to strength,” says Kris Barras. “Fans have often asked when we are going to record a song together. Now seemed like the perfect time. It’s a perfect project for Elles to be involved in. She absolutely nailed the vocal on this track, and we had great fun writing the lyrics together.”

Setting the stage for a big autumn

Burn It To The Ground continues Hollow Souls’ streak of collaborations with heavyweight guests, following tracks with Jared James Nichols, Jon ‘Marv’ Harvey of Monster Truck and Chris Tapp of The Cold Stares.

The release also builds anticipation for Hollow Souls’ debut self-titled EP, due October 10 on limited edition 10” vinyl, CD and digital. Pre-orders are available now at shop.hollowsouls.co.uk.

Fresh from a secret main stage set at this summer’s Maid of Stone Festival, Hollow Souls will hit the road this autumn for their first ever UK headline tour, spanning 20 dates with special guest Troy Redfern. Tickets are available via The Gig Cartel.

With Barras and Bailey’s chemistry captured on record, Burn It To The Ground offers fans a glimpse of the fire and spirit that Hollow Souls will be taking across the UK this autumn.
