Nine Below Zero channel two decades of blues into new compilation ‘Blues Power Volume 1’

British R&B legends Nine Below Zero have announced the upcoming release of ‘Blues Power Volume 1’, a carefully curated collection of standout blues tracks recorded by the band over the last 20 years. The album will be released on Monday 22 September 2025 on both CD and gatefold vinyl.

This marks the first time the band has assembled a dedicated blues compilation, offering fans a fresh perspective on their long-standing relationship with the genre. The record brings together previously unreleased material alongside some of the band’s finest blues performances, all of which have been meticulously remixed and remastered by Wayne Proctor to ensure a cohesive and powerful listening experience.

Long-time fans will recognise Nine Below Zero’s commitment to storytelling and musicianship, but ‘Blues Power Volume 1’ adds a new level of depth by celebrating the heart of their sound in one unified release. Rather than a retrospective, this compilation is the start of a new chapter — the first volume in what the band promises will be an ongoing exploration of their blues roots.

The production process took place at The House of Tone Mix Suite in Nottinghamshire, with Proctor also handling mixing and mastering duties, supported by engineer Chris McNally. The album’s visual presentation has also received careful attention, with striking artwork by Paul Bevoir that reflects the tone and character of the music within.
