Roots-rock artist Liam St. John has released his highly anticipated debut studio album Man Of The North through Big Loud Rock. Arriving after months of singles, festival appearances and global touring, the album captures St. John’s resilience and raw storytelling. With more than 90 million streams already to his name, this release cements him as one of Americana and rock’s most compelling new voices.
An album rooted in truth
“For four years, I had been writing songs that in one way or another addressed the roots of me,” explains St. John. “Songs about my childhood, being raised by a single mother. Songs that dig into my relationship with religion, and how it impacted my mental health. Songs that reveal my battles with depression and the ways I chose to cope with that, namely, alcohol and drug abuse. Songs that dig deep into my relationships, and songs that try to paint a picture of the beautiful land I am from. Man Of The North is an album about where I come from, who I come from, and what I come from.”
Highlights include the gritty title track “Man Of The North,” praised by Wide Open Country as “a powerful song that I can’t get enough of.” Country Swag called “Trouble” soulful, while Riff Magazine described it as “gothic country, but without the country… more hard rock than Americana.” Other standout moments include “Devil in Disguise,” a haunting collaboration with Houndmouth, and “Greyhound Bus Blues,” featuring GRAMMY winner Molly Tuttle.
On the road again
Following a string of EU and UK dates, St. John now turns his focus to an extensive four-month North American headline tour in support of the album. Dates and ticket details are available on his official website.
A powerful new voice in Americana
Blending Americana grit with rock intensity, Liam St. John has quickly earned a reputation for powerful live performances and fearless songwriting. Holler described him as a “genre-fusing crooner with emphatic, striking style,” while Celeb Secrets hailed him as “one of the most exciting rising voices in rock-tinged Americana.”
St. John first broke through with his chart-topping 2021 single “Dipped in Bleach.” Now based in Nashville but raised in Spokane, Washington, he draws on his turbulent childhood, unpredictable twenties and formative relationships to deliver a deeply personal debut.
Man Of The North is more than a debut record. It is a rallying cry, a testament to perseverance and passion, and a reminder of the trials St. John has overcome. With its mix of grit, humour and heart, it marks the arrival of a singular artist determined to carve his own path.
