**Saturday, October 8th 2011 sees his triumphant return to that legendary venue**
Fresh back from recording his next (as yet untitled but slated for early 2012 release) album in Nashville, Tennessee with producer Vance (Kings of Leon, Willie Nelson, Alicia Keyes, The Dead Weather, Buddy Guy, Keith Richards etc…) Powell at the controls and input & inspiration from the likes of Jack White, Martina McBride and Dave Stewart, Stephen Dale Petit unveils the release of not one, but two, albums in the next six months!
At the much anticipated 100 Club date, Petit will be showcasing tracks from both the Nashville album and the November 2011 release Stephen Dale Petit - The BBC Sessions which features his guest appearances on BBC Radio 2’s Paul Jones Rhythm & Blues and Bob Harris Shows. As with the 100 Club gig so beloved of many daily newspapers, the BBC Sessions also contain some stunning contributions from ex-Rolling Stone Mick Taylor.
Petit’s first two albums Guitararama and The Crave enjoyed commercial success and scooped Album of the Year Awards from magazines ranging from Guitar & Bass to Classic Rock and Mojo (who dubbed him ‘Guitar Hero 2011’) and enthusiastic full features in daily newspapers from The Sunday Express to theIndependent and the Times.
Highly acclaimed past SDP sets at the 100 Club have seen guest appearances from, amongst others, Ronnie Wood, Mick Taylor, Phil May and Chris Barber. TheOctober 8th gig will witness another incendiary set from Petit and his new, young band (average age 23) as they once again set the club alight with both new and classic material and judging by past events, appearances from a surprise guest or two.

Jerry Donahue & The Electric Revelators (duo) will be joining forces for a UK tour Feb 11th – 20th, and will be performing the songs of Robert Johnson, frequently referred to as “the king of the delta blues”, in celebration of his birth 100 years ago in 1911.
Robert Johnson consolidated the styles and techniques of the countless artists of the time into a recognized form that is now seen as “traditional blues”. Robert Johnson was only 27 when he was murdered by a vengeful husband in 1938, but in his short time in this world, he influenced all of the worlds’ best known blues and rock artists including our own Alexis Korner, Eric Clapton, Peter Green, Jimmy Page and The Rolling Stones etc.
Jerry Donahue has developed his reputation over the last 40 years such that he is now regarded as one of the best of the many popular folk blues guitarists in the world. Jerry was born in California and was lead guitar with Fairport Convention and Sandy Denny between 1969-76. He was the guitarist who took over after Richard Thompson left Fairport. He also played with theYardbirds, Fothringay and James Burton
The Electric Revelators are based in Swansea, and specialize in “delta” blues. The duo (Gordon Wride and Simon Gregory) have toured the UK and played at many major festivals around the UK & Europe. They have toured constantly since 2004, and headlined at many shows and theatres - they have also been special guests for The Animals since 2009

New Brunswick Battle of the Blues finds regional crème-de-la-crème for London final
Five Battle of the Bands-style heats of the New Brunswick Battle of the Blues competition have now produced 5 of the best unsigned and original blues acts in the country. They will go head-to-head at the competition’s London final at the 100 Club in Oxford Street on 29 March and the winning act will be taken to New Brunswick’s Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival to perform on a world stage. The final acts are The Dan Sowerby Band from Salisbury, Chris James from Carlisle, The River Devils from Edinburgh, 24 Pesos from London and Cherry Lee Mewis from Bedford.
The Canadian Province of New Brunswick has been looking to the UK to provide new performers for its world-renowned Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival. The Festival celebrates its 20th Anniversary in 2011. For the province’s tourism department this was also a unique opportunity to raise the profile of the Canadian ‘maritime’. The search for original talent started in October 2010, with an initial entry stage via YouTube. Six bands were subsequently chosen to battle it out at each of five regional heats in Glasgow, Southampton, Chorley, Billericay and Beeston, Nottingham.
Says competition organiser, Lee George; “The five heats have been an incredible success, with some brilliant blues talent coming forward and huge audiences at each event. It’s also been a wonderful opportunity to introduce New Brunswick to a new audience.’
There is also a public vote for the last place in the final, the general public can go to www.tourismnewbrunswick.co.uk to hear the two runners up from each of the 5 heats – and rate all of them. The ‘winning’ runner up will then join the other finalists in London.
The winner of the final will get an all-expenses paid trip to the beautiful maritime province of New Brunswick to play on one of the main stages at the Harvest Jazz & Blues Festival in the provinces’ capital Fredericton in September.
Lee George again; “New Brunswick is not only a wonderful part of Canada, but it has a musical heartbeat like nowhere else in the world. Travelling to the Harvest Jazz & Blues Festival could be a life-changing opportunity to perform amongst the very best and to sample ‘the jewel of Atlantic Canada’ and all that the Province has to offer.”
