Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band are back at Arlington Arts Centre on the 24th August, to perform their own blend of rootsy, country blues which captured Reverend Peyton’s imagination early on in life.

Through their extensive touring, high energy showmanship and tireless pursuit of musical authenticity, the trio are firm favourites wherever they perform, having built up loyal fan bases across the globe. The Big Damn Band features the vocals and incredible finger picking guitar style of “Reverend” Josh Peyton, his wife Breezy Peyton on washboard and vocals and Max Senteney on drums.

Perhaps best known for his viral “shotgun guitar” video achieving over one million views on Youtube plus many more on social media, the Reverend is now on tour, with the release of his latest album, The Front Porch Sessions, bringing his personal mix of catchy rhythms, authentic blues and spectacular guitar to Arlington. The album perfectly demonstrates the Reverend’s guitar mastery and his impactful song writing: his new songs are just as vintage in their blues tones as the originals he covers.

Now boasting ten albums and hundreds of live shows under their belt, the Big Damn Band has a vast wealth of experience to pull upon during a show and the veteran performers consistently connect with their fans on the road. From the feel-good vibes of “Pot Roast and Kisses” to the darker themes of “Devils Look Like Angels”, the band brings passion and energy to the fore throughout every performance.

The Reverend himself, the frontman of the band, lends both a low, worn voice and a skilled guitar hand to the band. Breezy plays the washboard to supplement Senteney’s throbbing drums and, between the two, their songs have a head-bobbing rhythm which brings out the Reverend’s twanging guitar style and rough voice. The Big Damn Band bring an energetic dynamic to the stage that takes the audience on a journey to the Indiana country blues scene which inspired the talented Reverend.

With praise from sources within the American Blues Scene and Glide magazine, Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band is a rootsy, bluesy phenomenon, playing at Arlington Arts Centre on Thursday the 24th August.
