CRY BABY & THE HOOCHIE COOCHIE BOYS.
One of the better-known & regular-gigging Potteries blues bands who were formed back in 2008 & started gigging in May 2009. Their second album “I Got News” was released in 2017. Heavily influenced by the Chicago Blues sound but with definite British characteristics from the likes of Nine Below Zero & Dr. Feelgood, the Hoochie Coochie Boys element is a nod to the great Muddy Waters. The band always feeds off live gigs and they deliver a highly energized performance. A true ‘Dance Floor Rhythm and Blues Band’…..
Support is by THE TERRY BURGIN BLUES BAND
Terry Burgin & Frank Neil are from Chester & have been playing some years now since they met at Alexander’s Jazz Theatre & their mutual love and understanding of the blues has made for a musical partnership that is well known around the city and surrounding areas. Thor Brown has recently joined the band as bass guitarist. Their music is essentially Delta and Chicago blues – Leadbelly, Howling Wolf, Robert Johnson, Willie Dixon, Jimmy Reed etc. They also play more recent music that fits this tradition.
